Headshot Promotion – Back by Popular DemandJune 22nd, 2011

Our last headshot promotion was a great success; thanks to everyone involved. It was amazing meeting so many fun and talented actors. Each and every session was exciting, filled with laughs, and everyone left with a headshot they were truly proud of. On a personal level; getting to chat with actors and directors about their creative endeavours was an added bonus. The whole experience left me full of energy and eager to pursue several personal projects – to further my own creative side. Here are just a couple photos from our previous last headshot weekend in April. I’m pleased to announce our Headshot Promotion is back for this Canada Day long weekend. Details can be found here.

Engagement Session – Shawn and AlexJune 10th, 2011

I love engagement sessions! They’re creative, and a great way to show your love for one another. Most importantly they are lots of fun! I always suggest engagement sessions to couples looking for a wedding photographer. As they allow both photographer and couple the opportunity to work together well before the Big Day. It’s a great way to get to know my potential wedding clients. And more importantly allows couples to get to know me their potential wedding photographer. Meet Shawn and Alex and one of my favourite e-sessions to date. On a bright Sunday morning in late spring I met Shawn and Alex in Gastown. Right from the start I knew we’d work well together. Our personalities, humour, and style meshed instantly. And it shows in their photographs! You can see why I love couples photography. Images like these won’t just make your friends “save the date” but stop them in their tracks to say “wow”.

Band Photography – Jetwolf; A RetrospectiveMay 20th, 2011

Last March I was given the opportunity to work with Jetwolf. Their needs were simple, just a few images to promote themselves. The experience was incredible and, from a creative standpoint, it was great to see others as passionate about their art and image as I am. Over the next year I went on to photograph their rehearsals, press kit, and album design. Karson, Breydon, Saqib, and Corey had a style that was genuine. You can hear it in their work and see it in their images. It totally worked. I even had the good fortune to photograph several of their live shows.

On stage Jetwolf was something special to watch; at once frenetic and calm, confident and charismatic, and always followed by passionate and loyal fans. There shows were as explosive as the glitter cannons that were sure to accompany them on stage. Separated by geography continuing as Jetwolf has sadly become unfeasible. All that’s left is the music. Jetwolf’s first album, Sweet Music, is still in heavy rotation on my iPod. It’s guaranteed to leave me smiling, if somewhat melancholic over their parting. In summation, simply – they will be missed. Jetwolf RIP.
